During 2007 our wonderful mare Castle Anna retired from competition. Anna had competed at Grand Prix level with 4 different riders and had been placed at 1.60m level. She had been a top class showjumper and she retired sound and happy to her new career as a broodmare. Hence our breeding programme had begun.
Castle Anna2008 saw the arrival of our first homebred, E.S. Ayrton, Anna's son by It's the Business. We were so delighted with Ayrton that Anna was covered by It's the Business again and in 2009 had a stunning filly, E.S.Arianna. 2009 also saw the retirement of another of our Grade A mares, Fantasie. Fantasie competed upto International level and was a superb speed horse. She is also British bred, being bred by Grand Prix showjumper Steven Gee out of his top performer Closewood Again. In 2010 Fantasie had a lovely colt foal, E.S Fantasme, while Anna had a beautiful filly, E.S.Anouska.

E.S. FantasmeWe then gave Anna and Fantasie a years break and in 2010 purchased another foundation mare in Tresemeik by Zeus. Tresemeik also competed to a high level showjumping and in 2011 gave us a beautiful filly by Fantaland.
Our breeding programme continues to increase as this is something that we are incredibly passionate about. Artifleur Z, one of the most talented mares that we have had the privilege of working with, joined the broodmare herd after an injury. In 2011 we covered 3 mares with Ubbo, an incredibly talented KWPN stallion by Concorde, that Alex was competing. Ubbo has sadly since been sold, however in 2012 Castle Anna, Tresemeik and Artifleur Z will be expecting Ubbo foals.
Artifleur ZWe have 5 mares to cover in 2012 and have plans to continue to expand our breeding programme.
We have reached an exciting stage as the years of waiting for the products of our breeding programme are coming to an end. Our first homebred, E.S. Ayrton is now 4 years old and will soon begin his competitive career. Exciting times ahead!
